If he looks familiar to you, that’s because you probably saw him play against the Socceroos when they faced Singapore. His name is Indra Sahdan and he is widely regarded as Singapore’s star striker.
He could be coming to Melbourne, according to a report on Today Online. But his services are also being sought by MLS team Real Salt Lake, where he is set to play a trial match. The Victory have also offered Sahdan a trial match.
Singapore is hardly a country renowned for its soccer talent, but Sahdan looks to change that perception.
“It doesn’t matter if nothing comes out of this. I need to try. This is my chance to prove that footballers from Singapore can play in some of the world’s best leagues, if we are given a chance.”
Sahdan currently plays for Home United, one of the most successful teams in Singapore’s S.League. In 143 games, he has scored 99 times, according to Wikipedia.
